Reading Rainbow: Design Inspiration for Decorating with Books

In case you can't tell by my company name, I have a thing for reading. Books, stories, Narratives...since I can remember I've been enthralled by the ability of words to ignite my imagination and transport me to distant lands.

Over the years, I've come to treasure my favorite books as dear friends. As you might imagine, this has left me with a bit of a decorating conundrum. How to store all of these dear friends, without having my house resemble a public library?

If you share my affinity for reading, here are a few inspired design ideas from around the web. I encourage you to play with styling your own books. Pick a few spots: a bookshelf, an empty wall, a wagon. Fill them with your favorite literary friends, grouped by color, size, or genre. Putting your most meaningful books on display can be one of the most effective ways to personalize your space. There is truly no better way to "tell your story" at home, literally.
